Trump Describes Attack on Iran as a ‘Gentle Touch of Love’

Despite the exchange of attacks, Donald Trump claimed that the ceasefire with Iran is still effective. In his words, he described the US attacks on Iranian facilities as a “gentle touch of love”.

He stated that US forces were able to easily destroy Iranian missiles and drones. At the same time, he called Iran’s leadership “insane” and warned that if a deal is not reached quickly, even tougher attacks would be launched.

Trump made these remarks in a phone interview with ABC News journalist Rachel Scott. He claimed that despite the ongoing attacks, the ceasefire remains effective and the situation is under control.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed in a statement that Iran attacked three US destroyers in the Strait of Hormuz with missiles, drones, and small boats. In response, US forces launched counter-attacks on Iranian missile and drone launch sites, command centers, and intelligence surveillance centers.

On the other hand, Iran blamed the United States for the conflict. The country’s military claimed that the US first violated the ceasefire by firing upon an Iranian oil tanker heading towards the Strait of Hormuz last Wednesday. They attacked US warships in retaliation.
