Government Overhauling Education Curriculum: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman believes that restructuring the curriculum from primary to higher education levels is a demand of the time. He stated that the education curriculum is being reshaped from primary to higher education. He emphasized that universities should focus on research, not just rote learning.

He made these remarks on Tuesday (May 12) at a workshop on “Transformation of Higher Education in Bangladesh” organized by the University Grants Commission at the Senate Building of Dhaka University.

The Prime Minister said that revamping the curriculum from primary to higher education levels is a demand of the time. The government plans to provide innovation grants from college to university levels. Furthermore, the government is going to make technical education mandatory from the school level.

He stated that it would be impossible to survive in a competitive world without excelling in innovation.

Tarique Rahman said that it is possible to create something new through the effective use of limited resources. The government aims to build the nation by nurturing talent and preventing brain drain.

The Prime Minister added, “We want to build an education system where every student can utilize their potential.” He also stated that the government is sincere in effectively implementing the aspirations of the youth to build a new Bangladesh after the departure of fascism.
