Sylhet: 7 Dead in Truck-Pickup Collision

Seven people have died in a head-on collision between a truck and a pickup van in Dakshin Surma Upazila, Sylhet. The tragic accident occurred on Sunday (May 3) morning in the Telibazar area of the upazila.

According to local sources, a speeding truck collided head-on with an oncoming pickup van in the morning, leading to immediate fatalities and injuries at the scene. The pickup van was severely mangled due to the intensity of the accident.

Upon receiving information, police and fire service personnel promptly arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations. The injured were transported to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced several of them dead.

The identities of the deceased could not be immediately ascertained. Police have stated that efforts are underway to identify the victims and investigate the cause of the accident.
